Is The City of Casa Grande Sensible With Taxpayer Dollars?
Although there are bonds to build the voter approved parks and rec multi-generational facility, the City of Casa Grande is not able to staff and operate from the general fund. Therefore, the city has set this project aside until it can be financially supported. I encourage you to review the annual city budget available on the city’s website: http://www.casagrandeaz.gov
Do you think Casa Grande will remain a “bedroom community” for long?
The City Council is always seeking new industrial and commercial developers to promote growth of the area. One of those successes is the WalMart’s largest distribution centers covering 40 acre. Another attempt is the Westcor Shopping Center named The Promenade Mall. Although we’re in a recession, the city recently completed a new public safety administration building. They are also in the final construction phase of a 60 million dollar sewer treatment facility expansion. The new fire station is in the works as well. Such additions were funded from impact fees from the housing boom days and not from general fund dollars.
So, What makes Casa Grande, Arizona so desirable?
At an elevation of about 1389 feet, Casa Grande is strategically located at the intersection of two major interstates, I-8 and I-10. It’s just 45 minutes south of the Phoenix Airport and an hour north of Tucson. This smaller community offers housing that is much more affordable than the two bigger cities it sits between. As you will see, the previously known as “bedroom community” is growing pretty fast. Do you want to be a part of the growth and reap the benefits?
