Is PhoenixMart Advancing?

According to Mayor Bob Jackson, the only hold up for this project is the processing time for an EB-5 application. When the project began, the processing time through Washington was only 2 months. It is now 8 months to get through the process which has added 6 months of a delay. Ground breaking is now planned to take place by the end of 2013 with an estimated opening day in February of 2014.

I think this railroad transfer center project is going to be a huge benefit for my home community of Casa Grande, AZ. I am a realtor that has focused on home buyer’s needs in Casa Grande since 2005.
I believe I moved here for the same reason this area was chosen for the Phoenix Mart project. I wanted to be part of the growth spurt that is bound to happen. Being between two major cities and having access to 2 major highways and the railroad, Casa Grande is prime to see a record breaking rebound from the recent effects of the economy. We’ve made such headlines before and now I think the completion of Phoenix Mart and the Union Pacific Railroad transfer center will put us in the headlines again. [Read more…]

PhoenixMart PAD Is Approved in Casa Grande, AZ

PhoenixMart PAD Is Approved

Well, it happened Tuesday, January 17, 2012. The City Council of Casa Grande approved the PAD for PhoenixMart by a unanimous 7 to 0 vote. Ground breaking is planned to take place by the end of 2012 with an estimated opening day in February of 2014.

Friday, January 20, 2012,  I attended a breakfast in which many of my questions about the PhoenixMart project were clarified.  Mayor, Bob Jackson spoke briefly about the project before handing the mic over to the Vice President of the developer of PhoenixMart, Jeremy Shoenfelder. So, What is PhoenixMart?

PhoenixMart is modeled after Dragon Mart an YiW. This project is said to be geared toward both wholesale and retail sales as the first multi-industry permanent sourcing and distribution center in the United States. It’s to be a one-stop shop where over 1,700 domestic and international vendors offer approximately 500,000 products and services to other business, consumers, and international buyers.

Follow along as this AZ Sourcing project changes the future of Casa Grande.

With plans to break ground for the PhoenixMart project some time between March and May of 2012 and then a grand opening in June of 2013, there must be some aggressive plans in place. The Pinal County Supervisor, David Snider says he was approached with a “business opportunity” in 2009. He was to meet with a group led by Elizabeth Mann who was the developer of Phoenix COFCO Center, the Chinese Cultural Center. From about 2004 through 2007, D.R. Horton built this Casa Grande community not far off exit 185 of the I-10 highway. This Avalon neighborhood is popular for it’s larger floor plans in both single level and two-story models. Homes for sale in Avalon of Casa Grande are desirable for the convenient location to the interstate making it only about a 35 minute drive to the Phoenix Valley.
